Emerging Beauty

Do you take time to 'smell the roses'? We live in a day where we rarely take the time to pause or have to wait long for what we need or desire.  Information and items are at our fingertips and, for some, comforts come at the snap of a finger.  It's no wonder we often seek shortcuts and quick fixes to turn ourselves into our ideal selves.  We look for just-the-right 'thing' that will transform us into what we've been taught is beautiful. 

What would happen if we slowed down for a moment to consider beauty's timing?  As read in the book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 11:

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." 

God's care in crafting us in His own image guarantees that He's placed beauty in each of us.  Attempts to accentuate our own images - when all it requires is time - distracts us from being a reflection of God's image.  He's placed in our hearts the desire to know Him and to seek His wonderous works for all time. 

Rest assured - true beauty emerges in its own timing.  And while it may take some time to emerge, there's value in waiting for the blessing of seeing beauty in its full bloom.  For when it emerges in its own time, it makes a statement - speaking much louder than it would have had it been painted over or rushed into maturity. 

The fullness of beauty flourishes with time, on time and in its own time.
